The Redesign Needs a Redesign
These clips appear to have been redesigned. Structurally, they appear sound, but upon installation, they snapped. It appears the material used is too brittle, or perhaps has become brittle with age, and the redesign uses less material, potentially reducing the strength in the high stress areas.
