Part was the right one and Install went well

I had downloaded the pictures and watched some Youtube videos. We have a Jenn-Air Double oven where the gasket for the upper oven had ripped off and the fibers and spring inside were exposed. I ordered the gasket - It came in a small envelope and was bunched up - I was expecting a rectangular frame with the fiber tube wound around it - turns out you have to reuse the metal frame that was stiffening the old gasket. Two screws to open the door hinges and a pull to remove the door. The hinges snap back quite violently when the door is pulled out - you may want to insert a broom handle or a wooden strip to prevent them from springing back when the door is removed. Place the door handle side down on a cloth covered table and get to work to remove the screws that hold down the various layers - Make sure you place the right screw near the right hold on the outside as not all the screws were the same length! Finally the last layer holds the gasket against the glass door assembly - remove the gasket fiber cover from the metal frame and slip the new cover on by pushing it through. You have to be careful, as the new gasket has a metal spiral lining that acts as a heat shield - the frame must go through the metal spiral. Once the gasket is attached, place it inside the door and reassemble the various layers. Finally to put the door back you may have to lever open the hinges in the oven with a wooden rod or broom handle and then slide the door onto the hinges. Plan on between 45 minutes to an hour for the job if you haven'y done this sort of job before!
