Runaway temperature, oven heats when no cook cycle is programmed or defective oven temperature sensor
Runaway temperature means that the oven temperature increases constantly above the set temperature because a stuck relay on the electronic oven control board causes an oven element to heat constantly. The electronic oven control senses the oven temperature remotely through the oven temperature sensor. A defective oven temperature sensor could cause the electronic control to detect the wrong oven temperature. Check the resistance through the oven temperature sensor using a multimeter. You should measure around 1080 ohms of resistance through the oven temperature sensor at room temperature. Replace the oven temperature sensor if resistance is off by more than 200 ohms. A defective wire harness can cause the electronic oven control board to detect the incorrect resistance through the oven temperature sensor. Replace the wire harness if it's defective. If the oven temperature sensor and wire harness are okay, replace the electronic oven control board because it's not detecting the correct temperature. Also replace the electronic oven control board if an oven element heats constantly due to a stuck relay.
Defective glass touch panel
Unplug the range for 30 seconds then plug it back in to restore power. If the code resumes after restoring power, unplug the range and check the wire harness connection between the glass touch panel and the electronic oven control board. If the wire harness connection is okay, replace the glass touch panel. If the code resumes after replacing the glass touch panel, replace the electronic oven control board.
Electronic oven control board failure
Unplug the range for 30 seconds then plug it back in to restore power. If the code resumes after restoring power, unplug the range and replace the electronic oven control board.
Glass touch panel disconnected from the electronic oven control board
Unplug the range and check the wire harness connection between the glass touch panel and the electronic oven control board. If the wire harness connection is okay, replace the glass touch panel. If the code resumes after replacing the glass touch panel, replace the electronic oven control board.
Communication failure between the electronic oven control board and the surface burner control system
Unplug the range and check the wire harness connections between the electronic oven control board and the surface burner control components, such as the glass touch panel and cooktop user interface control board. If wire harness connections are okay, have a service technician examine and repair the range because the technician will need to conduct live voltage checks to determine the cause of the failure. Replace any parts the technician finds defective.
Communication failure between the convection fan speed control board and the electronic oven control board
Unplug the range and check the wire harness connections between the electronic oven control board and the convection fan speed control board. If the wire harness connections are okay, replace the power control board assembly that includes the convection fan speed control board. If the problem continues, replace the electronic oven control board.
Oven temperature sensor failure
Unplug the range and measure the resistance through the oven temperature sensor circuit from the electronic oven control board. You should measure around 1,080 ohms of resistance at room temperature. If resistance is off by more than 200 ohms, replace the oven temperature sensor. If resistance is okay, replace the electronic oven control board.
Oven door lock failure
Unplug the range and check the wire harness connections between the oven door lock assembly and the electronic oven control board. If the wiring connections are okay, replace the oven door lock assembly. If the problem continues, replace the electronic oven control board.
User interface control board failure
Unplug the range for 30 seconds then plug it back in to restore power. If the code resumes after restoring power, unplug the range and replace the user interface control board.
Communication failure between the user interface control board and electronic oven control board
Unplug the range and check the wire harness connections between the user interface control board, power relay control board and electronic oven control board. If the connections are okay, replace the wire harness between the user interface control board and the electronic oven control board. If the problem continues, replace the user interface control board.
Communication failure between the user interface control board and the glass touch panel
Unplug the range and check the wire harness connections between the glass touch panel and user interface control board. If the wiring connections are okay, replace the user interface control board. If the problem continues, replace the glass touch panel, which includes the wire harnesses that connect to the user interface control board.
