Fixed my problem. Easy install

Oven temperature erratic - sometimes too high, sometimes too low. I had to watch the oven temperature thermometer I put in like a hawk to keep things from becoming under or over cooked. I figured it was either the control board, or temperature sensor, or both. So I bought both. I didn't need the sensor so I returned it for a refund. You have to peal off the front label from the old one and stick it on the new one. I put off doing this because I thought I had to slide the oven forward away from the wall to get at the back (and I can't access it from the sides). Boy, is it heavy. I discovered that I could just rock the oven forward and the bottom drawer would slide open so it would be stable right at the balance point. Of course, I removed everything from the drawer, the wire racks, and the burner tops first. When you tilt it forward the oven door will fall open, so be ready to catch it. Be careful about losing screws that hold the board in place - one fell and disappeared somewhere inside, so I had to replace it.

oven malfunction for Kenmore Gas Range.
September 30, 2019

My mom's Kenmore Gas Range has a problem. The stove top burners work but the oven will not light. After a little diagnostics I found that there is no voltage going to the oven Igniter. I found that the igniter gets it's power from the control board so I requested and received a new control board. I had my diagnostics and conclusion verified by the nice people on the Sears help line but after replacing the "Defective" part with the new one, either the new control board is defective or there is a different problem because the part did not resolve the problem. I am very confident the part is installed correctly.
