Replacement part fits
The gas cap on my Craftsman Lawn Tractor had deteriorated. This replacement gas cap is apparently a generic that fits many other brands and models. In any event, the gas cap fits fine and is a good replacement.

Wrong part
About 1 hr after this order was placed I realized it was the wrong part. I called up immediately and was told it would not be shipped. However, it arrived and then I had to send back and the return instructions were ridiculous. Will never order from your company again. Hopefully my credit card will have amount re-credited.

I gave machine serial#, the man says I know what you want sends me a generic gas cap???? I paid for part and shipping!! You need better help! Service sucks!

Perfect fit!
All I needed was a gas cap. Sounds simple enough, right? Wrong. Even with the Model # and S/N of my tractor different options-too many-came up online, so I called to ensure I was buying the correct cap. The person who helped me was great! Made it all very simple and a few days later I had my new cap and it fits perfectly!

proper fuel cap not available?
Ordered fuel cap part 140527 for 2004 917.273370 tractor. Web site said this item was replaced by 071.917.581075501. Item received in less than a week. Replaced cap is a plain cap - no hole in top, no gasket inside to control air accessibility. My tractor will not run without external air accessibility. Years ago Sears repairman told me to always check the cap by blowing through the little hole. I ordered a new one because mine was clogged and I could not blow air through it. I could find no means on the web site to talk to an associate or repair man about this. Appears that my 7 year old tractor is unusable because I cannot get the proper cap for my fuel container.
