Drive Belt for Lawn Vacuum
The part from SearsPartsDirect was an exact match for what was needed. Thanks! Having said that, replacing the drive belt on the Craftsman Lawn Vacuum 247.770990 is a lot of work, much more than the same replacement on a similar lawn mower. You have to remove the front wheels, the plastic shroud under the vacuum, and the metal shroud around the impeller. Then you have to pull off the impeller itself (large puller required), just to get access to the drive pulley on the crankshaft. Then it has to go back together again. It is all possible, but takes more time than one would initially think. If your time is worth much (like if you have a job and would be making money instead of working on the tool), I would suggest getting a small engine shop to do the work. Go ahead and get the work done - the machine is bullet-proof. If you are retired like me, and you wouldn't be making any money, AND YOU ENJOY THIS KIND OF WORK, go for it.
