Every Part Came in Damaged
Ordering was easy and shipping relatively fast (although expensive); however, every part came in damaged. (The only thing that arrived without damage was the plastic bottle of stainless steel cleaner.) The gas cooktop burner cap and burner knobs I ordered each arrived damage. There was a small chip and large rub mark on the burner cap (packed loose and unwrapped in a large, plastic Electrolux parts bag) and the knobs were extensively gouged and scratched--considerably worse shape the ones I want to replace which only shown ordinary wear after eight years of use. I don't know if the knobs were shipped in damaged condition or were damaged during shipping, but my guess is they were damaged in shipping because I can't believe the gouges could happen just sitting in a box on a shelf in the warehouse. When the knobs arrived, all five were packed loose in an open ziplock plastic bag, and one knob was loose in the bottom on the box. I've attached some photos--the caps look worse than the photos show. On the plus side, I just spoke with a Sears Parts Direct rep (Camille), and they are shipping replacement parts via expedited shipping and provided a UPS return shipping label for me to return the damaged parts. (I also have to send them photos of the damaged parts.) I'll withhold my final review of purchasing parts from Sears Parts Direct until I receive the replacement parts. If the replacements for the original damaged parts also come in damaged, then I'll never purchase from Sears Parts Direct again. If the replacement parts arrive in undamaged, new condition, then I'll accept that the problem with the first order was just an aberration--accidents (or occasional poor service) happen.
