Common DeWalt table saw replacement parts

  • Blade guard. The table saw’s blade guard is a clear plastic cover positioned over the blade. The blade guard prevents accidental hand contact with the saw blade.
  • Carbon motor brushes. The spring-loaded motor brushes on the table saw mount against the rotating armature, transferring power to the armature.
  • Drive motor. The drive motor rotates the arbor shaft to spin the saw blade.
  • Motor overload. The table saw’s motor overload prevents motor damage by shutting off power to the motor when the blade binds up in the work piece overheating the motor. A reset switch on the overload allows you to restore power to the motor after the motor cools down and you clear the blade.

Replacing the blade on your DeWalt table saw

  • Unplug the table saw’s power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Loosen the blade-tilt locking knob and tilt the blade to a 90-degree angle. Raise the blade to its highest cutting position. Push the red button on the blade guard and lift off the blade guard assembly.
  • Insert a slot screwdriver into the large hole in the table and pry out the table insert.
  • Use the 2 blade wrenches supplied with the table saw to remove the blade arbor nut. Remove the outer flange washer and saw blade from the arbor.
  • Position the new blade on the arbor and reinstall the flange washer and arbor nut. Firmly tighten the arbor nut using the 2 blade wrenches supplied with the table saw.
  • Reassemble the table saw.
