Maintenance tips for your Dremel router

  • Lubrication. Grease the gears in your router yearly to keep the parts moving smoothly.
  • Carbon motor brushes. Examine the carbon motor brushes every six months and replace the brushes when if they're damaged or worn down to ¼-inch long.
  • Bearings. Bearings should be replaced after about 500 hours of operation or if they become noisy.

Tips on adjusting cutting depth on your Dremel router

  • Select and install the proper bit for the cut that you're making.
  • Place the router on its base and position the base on the work piece.
  • Open the depth adjustment locking lever and turn the depth adjustment ring until the bit just touches the work piece.
  • Move the adjustable scale clockwise so that 0 on the scale is positioned exactly above the base pointer.
  • Turn the depth adjustment ring along the adjustable scale to the desired depth.
  • Close the depth adjustment locking lever.
