Maintenance tips for your Horizon weight system
Inspect all moving parts each time you use your weight system. Replace any worn cables or pulleys immediately. Tighten any loose bolts, nuts or other fasteners.
Cables can stretch when you use the weight system the first time. Cables also stretch over time. Carefully check cable tension before each use. Tighten any cable that has any slack during inspection. Don't overtighten any cables. The top weight in a stack will be lifted up off the stack if a cable is overtightened.
If a cable slips off the pulleys often, the cable may be twisted. Remove the cable and re-install it.
All cables should be replaced every 2 years.
Common replacement parts for Horizon weight systems
- Weight cables. Weight cables attach lifting components to the weight stacks to provide resistance during lifting.
- Weight cable pulleys. Weight cable pulleys attach to the weight system frame and help guide cables from the lifting components to the weight stacks.
- Weight stack carriage. The weight stack carriage holds, supports and aligns the stack of weights so the weights remain stable during lifting.
- Fasteners. Fasteners such as bolts, nuts, screws and pins hold the various lifting components of the weight system together.
