Top-selling repair parts for Sharp upright vacuums

  • Dirt sensor eye. The dirt sensor eye detects dust and dirt as it passes the eye so you can see the amount of debris that the vacuum is picking up from the carpet.
  • Beater bar drive belt. The beater bar drive belt connects the drive motor pulley in the nozzle assembly to the beater bar to spin the beater bar during vacuuming.
  • Beater bar motor overload. The beater bar motor overload shuts off the beater bar drive motor if the motor overheats.
  • Beater bar. The beater bar spins to agitate carpet fibers and loosen dirt in the carpet so the vacuum motor can suck the dirt into the collection chamber.

Troubleshooting your Sharp upright vacuum when the beater bar isn't rotating

  • Check the motor overload switch. Reset the motor overload and check for obstructions that could prevent the beater bar from rotating. Clear any obstructions to beater bar rotation.
  • Unplug the vacuum cleaner and check the drive belt. Replace the drive belt if it's worn or broken.
  • Check the beater bar drive motor wiring connections. Reconnect any loose wires and repair any broken wires.
  • If the beater bar motor doesn't run when it gets power, replace the beater bar motor.
