Check the gas supply cut-off valve to make sure it's fully open. Open the valve if you find it shut.
Check the thermostat setting. Turn the temperature dial on the thermostat to a position calling for heat to see if the thermostat works. Replace the thermostat if it doesn't turn on the furnace.
