Rheem air handler common replacement parts
- Air filter. The air filter traps dust and particles from circulation air before the air enters the evaporator or heat exchanger.
- Thermostat. The thermostat monitors temperature inside your home and sends signals to the air handler's electronic control board to run the blower fan as needed.
- Start capacitor. The motor start capacitor briefly increases voltage going to the blower motor to help the motor start.
- Bearings. Bearings support the blower wheel drive shaft and allow the blower wheel to spin freely.
What to do when your Rheem air handler won't start
Check the house circuit breakers for the air handler. Reset the house circuit breakers if they're tripped.
If the air handler has power, check the thermostat settings. If the thermostat isn't working, replace it.
Check the air filter. The air handler may not run if the air filter is clogged. Replace the air filter if it's dirty.
