Troubleshooting your JVC receiver when the speakers won't play

  • Check the output settings on your receiver's control panel first. Make sure that you have the correct speaker output selected. Adjust the audio output settings if necessary.
  • Check to see if you have the headphones plugged into the headphone jack. Unplug the headphones to play the speakers if you find the headphones plugged into the headphone jack.
  • Check the speaker wire connections. Make sure that speaker wires are plugged fully into the speaker jacks on the back of the receiver. Make sure that the speaker wires are securely connected to the speakers. Reconnect any loose wiring connection.
  • Check speaker wires for damage. Repair or replace any damaged speaker wire.

Top replacement parts for JVC receivers

  • Fuse. The fuse in the receiver blows when the receiver draws too much current through the power cord because of a short circuit in a receiver component or wiring.
  • Power cord. The power cord supplies the receiver with electrical current from the electrical wall outlet.
  • Main electronic control board. The main electronic control board governs the settings and functions of the receiver and powers the components inside the stereo receiver.
  • Remote control. The remote control communicates control and setting selections to the stereo receiver using RF (radio frequency) signal. The remote control allows you to operate the receiver and make setting selections from a remote location.
