Official Norge washer parts

Norge washing machines have a long history of providing durable, high-quality front- and top-loading washers to keep busy families in clean clothing. However, even the most dependable washer can experience issues with agitation from time to time, where the agitator slows down or stops running completely. Performing regular maintenance and following a few simple troubleshooting ideas can keep your Norge in tip-top shape.

Check the agitator

The agitator is the heart of a washing machine, and when it's cracked or damaged, it can slow down or stop altogether. Check the top of the agitator to see if it's ratcheting properly. If the teeth are worn and no longer engaging the agitator dogs, it might need to be replaced. Look closely at the agitator to ensure it isn't worn, warped or cracked. This is another simple fix.

Inspect and replace agitator dogs

If the top half of your agitator is spinning freely and the teeth aren't worn, the agitator dogs themselves might be worn and in need of replacement. To operate properly, these washer parts must engage with the gear teeth located at the top of the agitator. After you replace the agitator dogs, the agitator should ratchet in opposite directions, creating friction and cleaner clothing.

Examine the washer drive belt

Before placing a call for washer repair help, take a minute to inspect the washer drive belt if your washer has one. A broken or worn belt will keep the washer from agitating properly and will need to be replaced.

If you do need to replace parts, Sears PartsDirect stocks a range of washer repair parts and maintenance tools to keep your washer running smoothly load after load.
