5 lawn mower parts and supplies to keep on hand
Blade. The cutting blade wears out fast when you mow the grass often. Hitting a rock or other foreign object can damage the blade when mowing.
Air filter. A clean air filter prevents engine wear and helps the engine start easily.
Spark plug. A fresh spark plug helps keep the mower engine running smoothly all season long.
Mower-deck spray. Use this nonstick treatment that bonds to metal and plastic surfaces to keep grass clippings from sticking under the mower deck.
Fuel stabilizer. Keep your lawn mower’s gasoline fresh to avoid engine-starting problems.
Other nice-to-have parts—especially if you mow often—include engine oil, carburetor cleaner, blade removal tool, flywheel key and an extra drive belt (for self-propelled mowers).
