Additional Information
The AEQ72909602 ice maker assembly includes the ice mold and the control device that cycles the ice tray, filling it with water and ejecting the ice cubes once they are frozen. It is designed to replace a faulty or broken ice maker in your LG refrigerator.
A common issue that this part resolves is when the refrigerator no longer produces ice or when it leaks water into the ice bin, causing a clump of ice. It is crucial to ensure that the refrigerator is unplugged and the water supply is shut off before attempting installation. Customers should also be careful to handle the electronic components with care to avoid damage due to electrostatic discharge.
When installing the new ice maker, it is important to verify that the fill tube and the ice maker are properly aligned to prevent leaks. After installation, the first few batches of ice should be discarded to ensure that the ice maker is clean and functioning correctly. If your ice cubes seems small, it could be time for a new water filter. You can find your filter here.

No instructions
The process of replacing the ice maker was straight forward: Unscrew two screws, pull forward out, and unhook power. However, the physical logistics in getting a screw driver in there, lowering the front and sliding it out and unhooking the power was strenuous.. Then re-hooking the power was physically challenging and required two people, one to hold it from pulling while the other person plugged in the power., and then trying to get it slid in just so took some doing. Overall the lack of detailed instructions and the location of screws and plug made it something for a young person's body to do as it required some gyrations. The ice maker started within a few hours..

Quick install
The installation required just a few simple steps. 1 - remove two screws at the front of the old icemaker. 2 - pull the old icemaker forward, then drop it down. 3 - unplug the wire connecting it to the fridge. To install the new icemaker, just reverse the process. The hardest part was unplugging the wire since it has a little clip on top and is hard to get your hands into. I looked at the wire connection on the new part to get an idea of how to unplug the old one.

Very easy to install
Just 2 screws and plug in. Make sure and check out the colors of wires on plug before disconnecting so you plug it back in the same way. After turning power on push test switch under ice maker to get it started. Takes a few hours to start making ice. Works like new again.

Works as advertised!
Works well. It is fairly easy to replace once you empty the freezer and remove the baskets and shelves. It's hard to see where the electrical connection is until you remove the single screw holding the ice maker. BTW there are NO directions with the ice machine so pay attention to how you remove it. Also, before you replace this item recommend replacing the water flow control valve first.

Perfect replacement
Delivered quickly, exactly like the one we took out, installed easily. Hardest part was getting the right angle to put in the two screws that hold it on. Price was a little less than the one other site I found it on.

Finally replaced it. 5 minutes to install
Had the old one out twice. It had a stripped gear. Held back spending $150 for the new one but no regrets. Replacement works great. Quiet, makes great ice quick. Filled the bin in 24 hours. Love it.
