The switch switch
September 02, 2020

I installed the switch and it worked fine. When I worked with a technician over the phone, he originally had me order the wrong switch. It took me over a year to get a day to replace the switch, but when I did, this was the switch for a different burner. I call back and was too late and could not return the switch (that was still in the wrapper. It was white, not blue, and a different configuration so I knew it was wrong when I opened up the stove top). The new tech reordered the proper switch and recommended me to call customer service to ask about a return of the other switch. After 4 calls to customer support I gave up! The tech also asked me if I wanted to purchase a 20% off coupon for my next Sears part. I let him know that I had a 10% coupon from ordering the last switch. He said that I was too late because he already placed the order. He said to call customer service.

Stove Switch
May 26, 2020

This was easy to install and could be done easily without the use of power tools. I used a light duty impact to remove screws only because it is faster. I took a picture before unhooking the conductors to use to verify connections when I installed the new switch.

Infinite Switch on Stove Top Install
January 16, 2019

The second dual element on the infinite switch contacts wouldn't disconnect upon heat (contacts wouldn't bend enough to break contact) so ordered new one from Sears. Removing the Glass top from the counter was a little more difficult than thought as wasn't anything like what people on YouTube were showing. I kept trying to find what was holding the glass top onto the counter (screws and all) but was only the greasy crud and sticky stuff that had to break the seal between the glass and countertop. I lifted up the glass cooking assembly and put a 2" x 4" across the counter opening with some rags protecting it on top and bottom and then set the heating unit back down on the 2x4 so that I could disassemble and change out the switch. Actual was really easy, just never had done it before.
