They said it was a five minute repair. Take it off put it on. The first time, that's exactly what I did. It didn't work! Took it apart again. This time I really looked at it. On the inside fan there is a small movable part. Put it in the down position. Line up the second small fixed part with the new starter cord part. One you have on, give the cord a gentle pull, to see if it catches. If it catches, your good to go. Put in the center screw above and behind the cover. (Not included with the new set of screws). Put in the four new screws. Be sure to align the bottom cover before you tighten everything down. After that give it a prime and a pull. Mine started right up. Ready to go! Hope this helps the not so mechanical inclined, like me!

The Line Trimmer Recoil Starter was an excellently built part. As a Retired engineering, I know a well Designed part when I see one....... It shipped to me in 3 days to my door. Easy to Assemble my trimmer with this part , had no problems. WOULD ORDER AGAIN From parts direct.

Start you trimmer

Replaces starter assembly on a 6 year old trimmer. Old one was failing to catch the crank when pulling. Relatively easy to replace by removing a few torx screws, if you have the right bits, which if I recall correctly required both a T15 and T20. So far working as expected after a few weeks.
