Super Easy To Install
Most folks think it's usually the "guys" who repair appliances... but my dad was a mechanic for 50 yrs. and taught us girls as well as our brother to "fix" things. I just discovered Sears PartsDirect & LOVE them. This is the 2nd dryer I've restored back to working condition for less than $200. This seal is so simple & easy to replace, even a gal 62 yrs old can handle it with ease. Thanks Sears PartsDirect. :-)

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Service okay, accountability not so much.
This seal would have been very easy to install, except this was the 2nd wrong item I received, even after going through the schematics with the agent on 2 different occasions. This would not have been an issue except that they charged me for shipping their mistake, twice.

Got 'er done.
It fit perfectly on our 38 year old dryer. It would have helped if there were printed instructions. I had a one page sheet that I kept from a repair i made 18 years ago that was very helpful taking the dryer apart to get to where this seal is. Actually changing the seal, I wouldn't have been able to do it without YouTube. I was very conscientious about getting the 38-year-old glue off. That was the hardest part of the whole project. The dryer has been working good again for the last few weeks.

Functional seal. Bring clamps and gloves.
Works as intended. The adhesive took a very long time to set and clamping was a necessary step to ensure a good seal.

Installation straightforward
The part was perfect, and replacement went relatively smoothly. The online instructions for installing the part itself were okay, but a YouTube video was extremely helpful for taking the dryer apart to gain access and to reassemble everything after the repair.

PERFECT FIT
The seal came with an ample tube of adhesive, so that was very helpful. After removing the old seal and cleaning off the old adhesive, I dry fit the new seal. Since it was stored folded in a bag, I used painters tape to help keep it in place. Great fit. It seemed that by design the internal fold (seal) was meant to point to the inside of the drum. I noticed that there was also three different colors of thread used to sew the seal together. Matching the color pattern to how the old seal was installed, also put this internal fold pointing into the drum, and would make mating the drum to the back wall much smoother. There was one area that was not pointing in to the drum, so I used Painters tape to hold it pointing inward. I let the whole thing set for awhile to adapt to it's new position. Pay close attention to the orientation of your seal. I set the drum on a table and rolled it down the length of the table while applying the adhesive. The adhesive was quite runny (thin syrup), so I had to keep moving and apply a thin bead. After letting it tack up for a moment as instructed, I began sliding on the new seal. Again using the painters tape to keep the seal in place helped tremendously. I let the adhesive set over night and installed the Drum the next morning. It slid right into place.
