Part Information

This power nut (part number WP9870163) is for trash compactors.

Power nut WP9870163 attaches to the side of the ram and is threaded. As the power screw rotates, it feeds through the power nut pulling the ram down to compact the trash.

Unplug the compactor or shut off the circuit breaker to the compactor before installing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.

Make sure you ORDER TWO!

Based on the comment of another purchaser, I ordered 2 of these nuts figuring (since the picture shows 2 nuts), I would get four nuts and be able to just save a set for the next time it needs replacing. Glad I ordered two, since the product comes as one nut, not two' Anyway everything worked fine in replacing the old and installing the new. Do make sure that you tape the toggle switch at the top front of the garbage disposal or you will break it during your repair and will need to replace that too. (At least that we s what I did'LOL). Good luck!
