Bypass valve 7129871 is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part that fits some water softeners in these series: Kenmore 625; Whirlpool WHES; GE GNSF, GXFS, GXSS and PNSF; and Waterworks WS1000. It also fits Kenmore water filter models 625348260 and 625348261.
Bypass valve 7129871 allows you to stop the flow of water into the water softener or water filter while still allowing water to flow to your home's faucets.
Replaces original water softener bypass valve part numbers 34371, WS15X10012, 3437, 3437299 and 42-3437.

Easy to install, took a couple of hours. Did learn from local hardware store to use plumbers grease to grease O rings. Products suggested in instructions will deteriorate O rings over time.

Easy to install if you have flex pipes.

Was easy enough to install. Unscrew 2 flex pipes and take off 2 clips. Reverse to install. Beware that this part had the intake and outflow pipe threads on the bypass valve. The one I replaced had push in and clamp adapters. So beware if you dont have flexable pipes, as the thread on fittings will be at a differant height.

If, like me, are replacing this item from a fully installed position, it takes at least 1 hour. This is to insure all gaskets and "O" rings are replace, or at least it top condition for long lasting service.........
