Easy to Install

This carburetor is a direct replacement part and is fairly easy to install. It didn't include any instructions or precautions, but removal of the old carburetor and installation of the new one is pretty straightforward. The new carburetor did not include a new o-ring that fits over the barrel of the carburetor where it mates to the air cleaner, but the original carburetor o-ring was fine and I reused it. I primed the new carburetor and it fired right up and ran just fine. Total time for the installation and test run was about 20 minutes.

Leaf blower carburetor installation

This part was very easy to install. I did not refer to any service instructions as none were needed. I simply removed the air cleaner cover by unlatching it and opening it back as far as it would go, disengaging its hinges from the main body. Then I removed two screws (both the same size, which avoids incorrect reassembly) and the carburetor was free of the engine block. The throttle cable connection came free when the carb was removed. There were two fuel lines, a feed and a return, which needed a firm pull with needlenose pliers to disconnect. The lines are color-coded to assist with correct reassembly. The leaf blower manufacturer thoughtfully included some barb connectors at an easily accessed location in the lines - otherwise I would have had to further disassemble the unit to disconnect the old lines and reconnect the new ones. The new lines needed about an inch cut off so they would route neatly - a simple task for a pocketknife or scissors. The throttle cable connection was remade easily, and the parts bolted back together with no trouble. The leaf blower started up after about ten primer-bulb squeezes and four or five pulls on the starter rope. Another fine tool was saved from the landfill!

Carburetor, Air Filter, Spark Plug

Carburetor and Air Filter easy to change in approximately 30 minutes, however Spark Plug did not fit. Needed a16mm nut and was sent a 3/4' nut Spark Plug. Larger size Spark Plug will not fit in cowling of Blower. Will not send Spark Plug back because of cost of shipping more than cost of Spark Plug.
