Washer would not go past rinse cycle

The washer would not go past the rinse cycle. The water will fill and drain but after that the button seemed like it was stuck on the rinse cycle. You can hear a ticking noise at the button. I replaced the timer. I ordered it and watched the video and it was so easy. The part came in sooner than was stated it would. I replaced the part but it's still doing it. Although the problem still exist and I can't figure out what's wrong, the video and ordering the part was a good experience. I hope someone reading this could tell me what else could be the problem.
