Siphon parts for Kenmore stacked washer/dryer
I had problems getting a local appliance repairman to come to the machine. I decided that it might be worth a try to fix the leak myself. There was definitely a learning curve. I could not find any videos on how to open the unit. I got the mechanical drawings from the Sears website. Through these, I figured-out how to open the machine, which fortunately did not have to be totally disconnected and removed from the tight closet, where it is installed. I already had the correct Craftsman (excellent quality!) screwdrivers, pliers, and socket wrenches. Some screws were difficult to access, but parts ordering was a breeze. I over-bought on parts (hoses, clamps), just in case hoses split on installation. They didn't. All I used were the plastic siphon parts, which installed without glitches. I will save extra parts for the future.
