Solved my screeching dryer problem
Dryer was making horrible screeching noises. I had replaced the rollers and belt but that didn't solve the issue. Roller on the idler assembly was worn out. If you are comfortable disassembling your dryer all the way down this is a easy fix. Pay attention to how the belt is threaded for reassembly.

Admiral Dryer idler assembly
I decided to bore out the old idler wheel, press in a bronze bearing, and re-install the old assembly. I will return the ordered part. This is the SECOND idler replacement; and it's an awkward, difficult access. The only failures of my dryer (new 10/2005) have been the idler wheel bearing (replaced Jan 2012 & Jan 2018); Admiral should have sealed ball bearing or something better than the steel alloy used in the parts you stock. I regret I didn't properly repair the wheel bearing the first time it failed. Why am I writing all this; who would read it?
