not compatible
The right outer door panel would have been a perfect fit except for the problem of it having a non compatible locking mechanism. The outer panel (new one we ordered) doesn't lock with the existing convenience door. There are two different door locking mechanisms!

Wrong Part in the Data Base
The part number for this item was verified by the Sears team as being the correct replacement part for our Kenmore Elite 79574053411 refrigerator. However, after receiving two incorrect replacement items, it's clear there is a error in the parts database. The item is as it should in terms of dimensions and most other aspects: EXCEPT the latching mechanism is completely incompatible. And it connect be switched out with the latching mechanism for the old product for several design reasons. Hopefully, my third time on the phone with Sears will result in finding the correct part.
