Seems to come with coating which was difficult to remove on the portion of the blade that does the cutting.

Ready for sharpening
The blade design is indeed accurate. The ease of installation was surprising but i was disappointed that the blade was not sharpened.

Blade Bent Easily
The original blade was in service for years, and in a pretty tough neighborhood. Our yard is not a Phoenix suburb putting green. With one contact mowing over a stick, the blade pretzelled, and dug into the ground. After removal, I was unable to unbend it, even with a 30-ton hydraulic press. I guess they just don't make 'em like they used to.

Always painted
It is the same with all new blades. They come with a course grind and are always painted. I would like to see a better edge on the blade, but as I said it is typical for any manufacturer's blade.

Same as the Original
I bought a replacement blade first at a big box store and it was thin and didn't work well. So glad I found this blade. It looks identical to the blade that came with the mower and feels more substantial and cuts perfectly.
