This transaxle (part number 583021501) is for lawn tractors.

Transaxle 583021501 connects the engine to the drive wheels on the lawn tractor.

Let the engine cool and disconnect the spark plug wire before servicing the lawn tractor. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.

The linkage connection points are completely different. I called Hydro-Gear (trans-axle manufacture) they said P/N 58302150 does not replace P/N 16678 even though sears online catalog suggested it would.

Be careful ordering online ..keeps changing address, example: 307.5 (307 and 1 half), the website will remove the "." changing it to 3075 which is the wrongs address.
