Self Propelled Craftsman drive cable

The cable was somewhat easy to install. I took watching a youtube video several times. Removing the old one was a little tug a war pull. I got the some help from my neighbor.

I started with the removal of the hand lever control housing. Next remove the broken cable and assemble the new cable. Next remove the what is left of the old cable from the mowers base and run the new cable through the hole and attach metal offset wire through hole on plastic fitting. then re-install hand lever housing mower handle.

Installing the zone control cable was not difficult, only a little time-consuming. It was installed in conjunction with two other parts--drive belt and blade adapter. Together, the three parts took about an hour and 20 minutes to install working at a deliberate pace since I had never done such installations before.

Trick to align attachment bracket.

The cable was relatively easy to install. The only difficulty was aligning and grasping the attachment at the end of the cable in order to attach it to the transmission. Once I taped it attachment bracket to the cable it was easily installed. I then removed the tape. The top end of the cable attached easily to the actuation mechanism.
