Removal of the old fan had one glitch: it required the use of a gear puller. That is because Peerless Gear did not appear to follow their own published guidelines which say to apply an antiseize grease to the shafts splines when installing the pulley/sheave over the fan. The consequence was that sheave could not be removed without a gear puller.
