  2. Turntable motor. The turntable motor rotates the glass tray inside the microwave so food heats evenly.
  3. Glass turntable tray. The turntable tray holds food being cooked in the microwave.
  4. Light bulbs. Light bulbs eventually burn out in your microwave. Follow the instructions in your owner's manual to replace light bulbs in your KitchenAid microwave.

How to fix your Amana microwave when it won't power up

Check the power supply first. Make sure the outlet cord for your microwave is fully plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check the electrical outlet for power by plugging a small appliance into the outlet to make sure the outlet is working. If the electrical outlet is dead, reset the house circuit breaker for the outlet.

If your microwave is getting power from the electrical outlet, unplug the microwave and check the power cord for damage. Replace the power cord if it's frayed or cut.

If the power cord is okay, then a blown fuse, wiring failure or faulty electronic control board in the microwave may be preventing the unit from powering up. You'll likely need to have a service technician diagnose and repair the microwave because KitchenAid microwaves contain high-voltage capacitors that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the power cord is unplugged.
