Ikea gas ranges are well-known for their superior cooking performance and dependability. Troubleshooting your Ikea gas range when the oven won't heat
Check the gas supply. If surface burners aren't working, check your gas supply cut-off valve to make sure it's open.
Test the igniter. Pull the bottom oven panel out and start the oven. If the igniter glows but doesn't light the burner, it may not be getting hot enough to open the safety gas valve. You'll likely need to replace the igniter.
If the igniter doesn't glow, measure resistance through the igniter using a multimeter. Replace the igniter if the meter measures infinite resistance.
Test the safety gas valve. Measure resistance through the safety gas valve using the multimeter. The meter should measure less than 5 ohms of resistance through the gas valve. If the meter measure infinite resistance, you'll need to have a service technician replace the safety gas valve.
Installing a new spark module in your Ikea gas range
Carefully pull the range forward and unplug it. If necessary, have someone assist you when moving the range. Shut off the gas supply to the range.
Remove screws from the upper panel on the back of the range and then pull the upper back panel off the range. As you remove the last screw, press on the upper back panel to prevent it from dropping.
Disconnect all the wires attached to the spark module. The type of locking tabs or fasteners varies by model. Release the locking tab and remove the spark module from the mounting bracket. Discard the spark module.
Position the new spark module on the top of the mounting bracket and push it into place. The locking tab should snap into place when the module is in the right position. Connect the wires to the new spark module.
Position the upper back panel on the back of the range and hold in in place while replacing the first screw or two. Replace all of the screws and tighten them firmly.
Plug the range back into the wall outlet and the open the gas supply valve. Slide the range into position, making sure the rear foot of the range properly engages the anti-tip bracket.
