What does the Amazon Fire Stick Lite do?
The Amazon Fire Stick Lite plugs into a HDMI port on your TV and streams internet content through your television. You’ll need internet access and you’ll need to connect the Fire Stick to your home’s Wi-Fi system during setup. After installing the Amazon Fire Stick on your TV, you’ll be able to watch tons of live television, free streaming content with ads and subscription channels such as Netflix and Prime Video (with paid subscriptions). You can also take advantage of free trials for subscription channels using the Amazon Fire Stick Lite.
What is streaming?
Streaming is watching video content on your TV through a Wi-Fi connection in your home. Instead of connecting a physical cable to the back of your TV and watching cable content, streaming allows you to do without the cable and use internet access through your Wi-Fi router to provide video content.
Will the Amazon Fire Stick Lite work on any TV?
The Amazon Fire Stick Lite will work on any TV that has an HDMI cable connection port. Almost all televisions manufactured in 2007 and later have HDMI connection ports. Unless you have an older TV, you’ll almost certainly be able to use the Amazon Fire Stick Lite on your television.
Why should I use a Fire Stick instead of cable TV?
With cable TV, you’ll pay a monthly subscription for content and you’ll need to physically connect a cable to your television. With a Fire Stick, you pay a one-time fee for a streaming device that plugs into your TV and uses internet access rather than a paid cable subscription to provide you with video content. You can save the cable fee by using a Fire Stick to stream video content on your TV.
You’ll find tons of free content on the internet and through streaming apps using the Fire Stick. You can also try many subscription apps for free before you decide whether you want to pay a monthly fee and continue using paid apps. The cost of using a Fire Stick can be significantly less than the cost of cable if you limit the paid apps that you use.
