Safety sensors are not installed, connected or sensor wires are broken
Inspect the safety sensor wire connections on the motor unit and reconnect any loose wires. Examine the sensor wires for damage or breaks. Repair or replace damaged wires. Replace the safety sensors if defective.
Safety sensor wires are shorted or reversed
Inspect safety sensor wires for incorrect connection to the control panel. Connect the wires properly. Check the safety sensor wiring for damage. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
Wall control defective or wall control wires are broken
Examine the wall control wires. Reconnect loose wiring connections. Repair or replace damaged wires. Replace the wall control if defective.
Misaligned or obstructed safety sensors
Realign the safety sensors so the LED lights on both sensors turn on. Remove any obstruction between the sensors.
Defective logic board or travel module
Unplug the garage door opener and check the wire connections between the logic board and the travel module. Reconnect any loose wires and repair any broken wires. If the door only moves 6 to 8 inches and stops, replace the travel module. Replace the logic board if it doesn't send current to the motor when you activate the opener.
