We have Ice Ice Baby!!!
Our ice maker on our 12 year old fridge we out a few months back, (10 months). Didn't really care about having ice, as we typically drink tap water anyways. But it was on the honey-do list so, when I went to look for a replacement ice maker found that every place was out or that it was going to be 6 months for the replacement. Then I found out the reason for the delay was due to a separate plastic part on the ice maker assembly. The motor was avaliable with in a few days. The part arrive 1 day later than the earliest estimated day, which was still within range. After 3 screws, the part plugged right in. Now we have ice. It did take a little longer to ship then I had liked, 8 days total, but it was a lot better than the original 6 months.

Old ice maker parts
Easy to install all parts and restore ice maker to like new condition. Have not installed in refrigerator due to recent shoulder surgery. Will have to wait several more weeks.

Simple repair
My ice maker was grinding and the ice would jam. I decided that there must be a worn out gear or clutch. On our Whirlpool ice-in-the-door model, there was only one screw to remove to get the ice maker out, then three screws holding the module on. After removing these, the old module lifts out and the new one plugs right in. The whole process took less than 10 minutes (probably less than five, but who's counting?) The only minor problem is getting the unit unplugged. There is a locking tab that needs to be unlatched, then a bit of wiggling to get the connector separated. Not a big deal, but can be frustrating if you don't know about it or can't see it. The module seemed to come adequately adjust for cube size, and the ice maker is making cubes at the same rate as when the refrigerator was new.

ice maker repair.
I found the part I needed at Sears Parts Direct and ordered it on line. The part arrived on time and after assembling the ice maker it works as good as brand new. Thanks Sears for having the part and getting it to me in a short time frame.
