Replacing the dryer thermistor. The only challenge was getting the lower front panel open

The dryer was blowing cold air. I made a couple measurements on the thermistor and it didn't seem to have the correct resistance. The ordering was easy and so was the install. This appears to have improved my dryers behavior. The price is way too high. The alternatives online were below $10. BUT, the reviews on the alternatives indicated a high failure rate so I chose to go with original parts.

The dryer was not drying properly due to thermistor not always working, replaced thermistor and started heating correctly but also found the vent was partially plugged near roof of house. Also shipping was what I considered questionable the part was shipped in a bubble pack through the mail and got some minor damage from the sorting equipment, with part being a electrical part should have been packaged in a box to help avoid damage.

I had to straighten the contact probes since the item was shipped in a flat mailer and the USPS did their best to destroy it.

WORST PURCHASE EVER

The experts repair dept. prescribed the wrong part, requiring a home visit from a technician who said exactly that. Spent hours on the phone with customer service and was transferred back and forth between 6 different departments, to no satisfaction or resolution.

It was ok to install but a little tight to put in.

I used to work with the Sears HVACR Dept bck in the middle of1996, to the qtr of 1998. I've worked on HVAC, Refrigeration, serviced equipment and have experience on certain appliances like HVAC, Refrigerator/Freezers, some kitchen appliances, so I'm mechanically- inclined to do that kind of kitchen appliance part installation .

2 of the three parts that I orded for $70 were incorrect. When I called to complain, they said the main parti neede for my dryer was obsolete and refunded me $8.00. Not cool
