Not a walk in park. Bell housing and augers need to be removed. Mine is an older unit. Needed Steel wool, proper grease and a few hours to do the job right. PS pay attention to auger, I had to do job twice because I put augers on backwards.

Fix it or throw away? I chose ro fix it. Took me over 3 hours to break down and remove the damaged worm gear. Things went faster putting it back together.
