This board is probably one of the simplest things to repair on the dishwasher and is certainly less expensive than a complete dishwasher replacement if allt he other parts are in order. The disappointing thing is this is the third control board I've put in - thy only last a few years. Would be nice if they were more reliable, but that seems to be the norm with today's "disposable" appliances. Recommend replacing the black cover as well if there are any cracks in the push button covers as that is a point of moisture entry if not sealed well. Sears Parts Direct has the best price on this as well, with no core return requirement.

Fixed the problem

The lights and buttons were getting glitchy, working intermittently. I replaced the console cover and control panel (membrane switch). It improved, but I determined that the connecting ribbon was also corroded. Once I replaced that, everything worked perfectly. Use a multimeter to test all 12 tracks of the ribbon. If there is corrosion or discontinuity, it may need to be replaced too.

Be careful delicate ribbon cables!

Capacitive switches like in a keyboard, damaged (through 15 years of use, it was the "Start" switch) when the plastic membrane in dishwasher's edge control panel allowed moisture to leak down into switch. Make sure you have an intact plastic strip over the switch PCB. As far as I know you can only get the plastic strip with the plastic top front panel. So another $50+ spent there, but still worth it compared to a dishwasher that would be over $1000 to replace.

Should have been an easy install, but...

I ordered a new cover panel as the outer covering on the buttons on our dishwasher were worn off and the actual switch was acting up. I decided to just replace both. It should have been easy but the switch did not line up properly once installed over the mounting pins. There was pressure being put on the switch so the buttons didn't have the nice tactile click when you pressed one. it was still not functioning like it should. After messing with it for a couple of hours I took an exacto knife and very carefully shaved some plastic off the two plastic pins that hold the switch in place giving it just enough room so the switch operates as it should.
