Ice maker D7824706Q includes the ice mold and the control device. The ice maker receives water from the water inlet valve and then holds the water in the ice mold until the water freezes solid. It then automatically ejects the ice and refills to continue the process until the ice storage bin is full.

Almost a complete ice-maker
There were a number of pieces that I had to migrate from the old ice-maker (the shut-off bale, the front cover, and the water intake funnel.) I thought I was ordering a "complete icemaker". Close, but no cigar. It worked fine after I got it put together and installed.

I hope I'm wrong.
Not sure what to say. I took it out of the box and to me it looked like it was re boxed from a return. It had Greasy fingerprints on it. The good thing is it's making ice. One thing to remember is it takes awhile to start making ice. The thermostat inside icemaker hast to get cold enough before it starts to make a ice.

I now have efficient ice making.
It was the correct part and it was in fact easy to install, and I am not an appliance repair man, never actually "worked" on a refrigerator, though I have mechanic experience. Three screws and a plug, took mere minutes.

Took much longer to get than install
It took about half an hour to install. A few parts had to be transferred from the original. The ice cube shut off bar, a wire guide, and the front guard. Slipped right in.

Easy to Install and Happy to have ice ...
I took my time with the repair and did a deep clean of my unit with it defrosted. In addition to replacing the ice maker there was a drain issued so I needed the entire unit to defrost to resolve. The installation of the actual unit only took a few minutes.
