So simple and fast, I could not believe it.

After removing the agitator cap there is only one bolt to remove. Using a 5/8" socket with an extension it was easily removed. After removing the cam driver containing the agitator clutch dogs and the agitator auger, the washer agitator was removed by lifting straight up. After wiping clean the spline, and greasing it lightly to prevent corrosion, the new washer agitator was inserted on the spline. I replaced all of the parts I removed with new parts because the clutch dogs were worn and the washer was 30 years old. There was also a washer agitator thrust washer that was not on the original parts list. I assumed it was a necessary upgrade. It took less than 15 minutes from start to finish. It was so easy, I thought I must have did something wrong. I rechecked the parts diagram from the internet and the parts list that came with the washer, and found no mistakes.

Took forever...

This agitator looks to be the correct item, but this took an incredibly long time to get - five long months to be exact. Fortunately the washer was till usable. If the washer hadn't been, we'd have been in mess. They sent weekly reminders, but after a while they became an annoying joke.
