Special details: The housing mounting holes for mandrel assembly 580862601 aren't threaded; order self-tapping bolt part number 584953901 separately to attach the mandrel to the tractor deck.
This mandrel assembly (part number 580862601) is for lawn tractors.
Mandrel assembly 580862601 attaches to the mower deck and spins the blades. The assembly includes the mandrel housing, mandrel shaft and bearing.
Wear work gloves to protect your hands when installing this part.
Be sure to purchase new self threading bolts if your old ones show wear or deformation. Each mandrel uses (4) each. I used a cordless impact driver and coated the threads with antisieze and ran them right in.

Probably should include new bolts to attach mandrel to deck. Also info that these bolts self thread. Other than that it wasn't too difficult.

Mower Deck Mandrel Assembly & Installation

Positives- Product as described. Fit exactly as original mandrel. Negatives- As noted in product description, the bolt holes were not tapped for 5/16-18 threads. This added an hour to install process tapping the holes by hand. I did not use the self tapping bolts that were almost $4.00 each. The self tapping bolts would not have saved any time. I used grade 5 bolts & nuts. Just tap the holes at manufacturers & charge an extra $1.00!! Mandrel works as new.

Easy mandrel installation

The only problem I ran into was the bolt holes in the mandrel was not threaded. I bought 4 new stainless bolts and because of the aluminum housing they made the threads going in.

Mandrel for my mower deck

I bought one of these mandrels awhile back from another company and it came with the four bolts in which to attach it to the deck and it also came with the bolt for the blade. This was not the case with yours, not only did you not supply me with the five bolts , I was amazed to receive the mandrel with no threads in the bolt holes, really? I had to stop everything and tap the holes so I had threads to attach the mandrel to my mower deck. Not cool people.
