Perfect Fit and Installed Easily
Ordered 2 axle caps with it because of comments seen while considering order. Was able to reuse the existing axle cap but it could have been destroyed. Only need to remove one axle cap to get old gearbox off and new one installed. Did not have to make any modifications to the gearbox to install it. Getting the axle cap off was the hardest part. Entire job took less than half an hour.

modifications needed
this item did not fit my spreader.The shaft was 2 inches short and the part for the axle to go through was not big enough so I had to drill it out to slide over the axle.As I said the shaft was too short and I had to extend it 2 inches..

I would recommend ordering a new press on wheel locking nut, as one was damaged in the removal process.

Not a direct fit
Part was listed as a replacement for the original part that is no longer available. It's not! The bore the axle slides through was too small and had to be drilled out and the shift that extends in to the hopper was 3/4" too short requiring it to be lengthened.
