Save myself $1500 +
First of all, let me state, that replacing the thermostat is no walk in the park! 1. It s located behind the panel, in the back of the freezer compartment 2. you have to remove everything in the freezer compartment a. the Shelf & Basket b. The Shelf & Basket Guides c. The Ice Maker (if you have one!) d. The Back Panel e. Keep track of the screws (They are not all the same!) 3. The Thermostat is clipped to the Evaporator Tubing a. Disconnect the wires and unclip it 4. Test it a. It closes at 35 Degree F b. Put it in the freezer for 5 Minutes c. Check it with an Ohmmeter d. If it's still open, then order the new one 5. Reverse the procedure to install the new one I ordered the new one and had it in 3 days, via USPS. This thermostat looked exactly like the old one, including wire lengths & colors. I tested it prior to installing it & it worked. I found it awkward to work inside the freezer, but I managed the task. It was a lot less expensive that throwing out the 20 year old Kenmore refrigerator. I was very please that I had saved the Wiring Diagram, Parts Diagram & List that came with it.

Easy to install.
It was easy to install. The most difficult part is determining which part has failed.
