Drain valve 9002402 opens to let you drain water from the water heater tank.

Disconnect electrical power to the water heater or shut off the gas supply before installing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.

Just what I needed; easy install. Problem was draining the tank. Had to use the relief valve to vent.

Bought it as a spare as the last time I drained my 15 years old heater, the drain valve was dripping a little. After opened and closing the valve a few times, it stopped dripping, so I just want to have a new part in hand, in case I need it. Also, replaced the anode rod and the pilot assembly with thermocouple.
