Check the power

Don't assume your dryer is broken right away if it isn't working. Check to see if the dryer is actually receiving power. Take a look at the home's circuit breakers to see if the laundry room breakers have been flipped. Also, check the dryer's power cord to see if it has become disconnected, if the prongs are broken or if the wires are shorted out.

Inspect the dryer timer

A dryer's timer is one of the dryer repair parts that must be working for the dryer to function at all. If the timer is defective, the dryer may simply refuse to start. If the electrical contacts in the back of the timer aren't making the proper connections, you probably need to replace the timer unit.

Replace the electronic control board

The electronic control board is the final step on any dryer troubleshooting list. If this part isn't transmitting power to the other components of the dryer, nothing is going to work. Because this very complex part is expensive, bringing in a repair technician to test the control board and handle its replacement is recommended.
