Clean the dishwasher filters
If you don't clean your Kelvinator dishwasher's filters regularly, they can become blocked with food particles, inhibiting proper water flow through the machine. Follow the user manual to locate and remove the filters, and rinse them off in the sink to get them clean. These dishwasher parts occasionally become damaged, so replace them if needed.
Clear the drain path
A clog anywhere along the drain path can back up the water flow and leave you with a dirty dishwasher load. Complete a simple dishwasher repair by clearing out the drain hose, the sump and the drain pump, and make sure the kitchen sink is not backed up as the sink and the dishwasher normally share the same drain.
Inspect the detergent dispenser
If the detergent dispenser has a broken latch or doesn't open during a wash cycle, the dishes may not receive the amount of detergent needed for proper cleaning. Examine the dispenser, and replace it with a compatible repair part if it appears broken.
