No instructions with Part. I had to figure out how to install part by trial and error.

Terrible

I specifically told the chat agent that the non spring end of the cable has a loop end ( not a straight end) she don't worry the picture is a generic picture. So now I have a second time wrong clutch cable. Terrible service!!

The fact that I was able to get this part for a nine year old mower was outstanding! I have always been fortunate to get parts through Sears Parts Direct!

Extremely POOR quality!!!!

This was the 5th time that I have had to do replacement on the Engagement cable. The last one broke after 372 days. (It would have been free if it was 364 days!) Purchased mower in 2012. Had to order replacement cables 10-13-14, 4-24-16, 7-15-19, 8-7-20, and 8-14-2021. A representative should have reached out to me with sincere apologies (perhaps after the 3rd replacement), and an offer to replace this poorly designed part at no charge, with free overnight shipping, AT THE VERY LEAST. The only person I talked to couldn't operate the computer, so I had to "chat" my way through the process. Incidentally, I returned the part, along with a brief note pointing out the design and quality issues, refraining from any @!$%##*\@!!!! comments. Not real easy to install due to restricted access. If I ever have to do this again, I will set fire to the mower first and send you all a testimonial photo which you could use, as an example of your most favorite customer. I have purchased numerous Sears products like power tools, major appliances, chain saw, circular saw, ratchet set, car and boat batteries, car tires, and have never ever purchased such a pathetic replacement part!!!!!! Easy installation

After blocking the pulley it only took about 15 min to install. Had to wire the deck fitting into its slot, was about 1/16 to small and kept pulling out.

The part was correct and was exactly what I needed

Being a DIYer and not familiar with garden tractors, installation was a bit challenging. This particular cable starts at the blade engagement lever (beneath the battery) and connects to a lever on top of the blades. There is very little clearance to see and work between the bottom of the deck and the top of the blade assemble - maybe 3-4 inches. I did figure it out and everything turned out fine. There were NO instructions which would have been a tremendous help.

Part wears out!

This is the 7th & 8th time I've had to replace this part. The part fails every year at the point where it connects to the lever. It is very difficult to install and I can't understand why Sears doesn't correct this part failure! I suppose they make good money on parts the fail more often than others. This will be my last sears Craftsman product.
