Will not order from Sears again

The part may be fine (I returned the unopened box) but I will not be ordering from Sears again. I paid over $40 to get 2 day shipping. On the day it was supposed to arrive, I received an email saying saying the part was backordered and wouldn't arrive for 2 months. I immediately cancelled the order and ordered it from another company for a much cheaper price. It arrived quickly and I installed it. The next day, which was supposed to be the day the part arrived from Sears, if I hadn't paid extra, the Sears part arrived. Today, I received another email, saying my account was credited. They did not credit the cost of the expedited shipping, when they actually shipped it a day after it was due to arrive.

Drag link steering mechanism

Need to remove the bed to get to the link. Part only comes with what is seen. Make sure you keep the washers / nuts from old piece.

Draglink steering bar for old Craftsman Lawnmower

If you have a model number 917.258563 it will fit but your turning radius is out the window. Once I got it installed it would hit part number 139886 pivot bracket assembly for mower deck when making a right hand turn and would not clear key No. 3 part No. 156483 spindle assembly, LH when turning left. It clearly was NOT tested on this model of Craftsman lawnmower. If you are still using as a lawnmower I don't recommend. I don't use as a lawnmower anymore but use it for snow remover and daily work, just removed the pivot assembly and it turns right well but have a shorter left turning radius.

Sears Parts Direct put me in touch with a repair part for my 29 year old Craftsman mower that I'd given up hope of ever finding. Did a generic search for the part# and Google linked me to the Sears Parts Direct website. Site was easy to navigate and within minutes I had placed the order.
