This drain hose extension (part number 285863) is for washers.

Drain hose extension 285863 attaches to the end of the washer drain hose to make the drain hose longer.

Shut off the water supply and unplug the washer before installing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.

The hose needed to be five feet long, it was 30 inches, I think. Didn't have exactly the correct end, but probably would have worked. I did seal the hole for now with self fusing tape

We ordered an extension for the drain hose on our new washer. What we got was the same hose that was on the washer and it did not work as an extension.

This part won't work as a replacement

Whoever specified this part at Sears/Kenmore didn't do it well. According to the website, it is the specified replacement drain hose for my Kenmore washer, but it's not the right part. It's a 3 foot hose. It needs to be at least twice that length. It's also supposed to have a specific adapter on the end, which this doesn't. It's the wrong replacement part and I don't recommend it.

Part could not be mounted on our washer. Needed a 90 degree coupling that wasn't shown in parts lists. Had to buy a hose at hardware store.
